Tokyo Devastated by Massive Earthquake

Alternate Working Title:
Why I'll never live in Tokyo.

I got 2 cars for you to look at today.

Car #1 is under recall. You might never experience a problem related to the fault but it..the car's flaw..it could kill ya. It has been known to do that.

Car #2 isn't under recall and there is no reason to think it..the car.. will ever be the cause of your death.

Which one do you want? Do you some time to think?

Famed Japanese seismologist Katsuhiko Ishibashi has been sounding the alarm for years. His research, first presented in 1976, found that large earthquakes occur just southwest of Tokyo along the Pacific coast at intervals of about 100 to 150 years. Called the Tokai earthquakes, these tremors are the result of mounting pressure from two converging tectonic plates grinding past each other.

Underneath Tokyo, Ishibashi says, there are three converging plates. “There hasn’t been a large-scale earthquake around Tokyo since 1923,” he says. “There’s a high probability a violent tremor will strike the region [in the foreseeable future], stronger than the one that hit two years ago. It could be catastrophic.”

Tokyo’s government issued its own warning in August 2012 when it outlined a worst-case disaster scenario: a 9.1-magnitude quake unleashing a 34-m (112 ft.) tsunami along the Pacific coastline south of Tokyo, causing an estimated 323,000 deaths. Officials said the report was designed to encourage better disaster planning.

This isn't rocket science but it's not Tarot cards either. It's gonna happen. It is over due. I see folks in Florida getting their homes blown to pieces and I feel nothing but awe at the utter stupidity. A Hurricane whacking the Florida coastline..gee...who woulda thunk?

I jump out of planes and off of bridges, cliffs, bungee platforms and get into fights with folks and groups of folks and zap myself with stun guns for fun  (and others of course) and partake in a variety of adrenaline getting stuff but I'm.....I don't wanna live in Tokyo because knowing an alarm is gonna go off but not knowing when it's gonna go off ...that just doesn't do it for me.

If it happens tomorrow I will be hoping the animal rescues go better than in Tohoku but for the humans...you...you who choose to roll the dice? I will mock you with a sarcastic post. The bottom of the post will have links to animal rescue info though.

Keep...THIS in mind:

The Gov said 323,000 dead in the Tokyo area in a worse case scenario...right? Well the Nuclear disaster in Tohoku was caused in part by the Gov underestimating loads and stresses on facilities. The worst case scenarios predicted by the gov were not as bad as the reality in Tohoku. Keep that gem in mind the next time you think the gov might be trying to scare you...oh....oh shit...no.....they are trying NOT to fucking scare you.
