When you know you "know". When a person is looking at you because they are not in approval of a Japanese girl with an American/ or other boy it is clear if you've experienced it.

I have been through this before and it ended the same. Me in a combini parking lot with a girl on the way to gone. She told me to ignore him or we (she and I) were going to have problems so...I ignored her.
